PB Illustration
I guess I took a more simple approach than others, but when I think of news story illustrations I think of something sort of generic, so that's what I went for. I wanted to show the texture of the peanuts, but still have some other elements in the shot to make it interesting. I'm not extremely happy with the shots I got because I had a lot of technical issues, so I didn't get to experiment much...but here it is...

I like your image with your description of what you were going for. I could see it in a generic news article about peanuts. I really the depth of field with the scooper being slightly out of focus. The soft box wasn't working for me either when I did it, so I know what you mean abotu technical issues. Good job! :)
great image. prly my favorite out of everyones. i love your approach and the lighting. u've captured some really good detail and a nice composition. nice job.
